The Quality Department supports and maintains Phoenix Sintered Metals’ ongoing commitment to continual improvement in all powdered metal parts production operations and in responsiveness to customer needs. The Quality Department conducts thorough evaluations of powdered metal components at each stage of the manufacturing process. All employees are involved in sustaining the ISO 9001:2008 registration as their operating business system. The Phoenix staff also regularly evaluates the production process and quality system in order to make constant improvements. In combination, these procedures enable Phoenix to uphold the highest quality standards for its powdered metal components while still maintaining competitive prices.
The Quality Assurance Laboratory at Phoenix includes the following capabilities:
- Gear Inspection Equipment
- Multiple CMMs
- Computerized SPC & Data Collection Capability
- Apparent and Micro-Hardness Testing
- Physical Properties Testing (Instron)
- Unitron Mount Microscope
- Hitachi Video Color Scope
In addition to the Powdered Metal Quality Assurance Laboratory, Phoenix contracts an outside Metallurgical Service that meets all the requirements of International Standard “ISO/IEC 17025:2005” for testing. This provides Phoenix Sintered Metals with complete control over the quality of all powdered metal products.
